Basic Elderberry Syrup
Here is a go-to recipe for a versatile elderberry syrup that you can take orally, add to tea, or even turn into gummies.

1 stock pot
2 quart jars
1 whisk
1 fine mesh strainer
1 wooden spoon
Bring the dried berries and water to a gentle boil over medium-high heat
Once boiling, reduce heat and simmer for 45mins to one hour, allowing the fluid to reduce by half
Allow the liquid to cool to lukewarm, just warm enough to melt the honey, Crush down the berries to release all the juice.
Strain through a fine mesh strainer and then stir in the honey
Optional to add essential oils: 1 drop each Vitality Oils from Young Living such as thieves, copaiba, frankincense, orange, lemon, ginger, cinnamon bark, and/or nutmeg.
Add to your quart jar, label with the date, and store in the refrigerator.
This should last stored in the refrigerator for at least a few months.
It's recommended to take 1 tablespoon daily for adults and 1 tsp daily for children, to maintain a strong immune system. In acute situations, our family takes the respective dose every 2-3 hours during the day.
